Goole: A Haven of Opportunity...
An exciting Vision and Renaissance Plan for Goole's future has been prepared by LDA Design working with the Goole Renaissance Partnership, and supported by Yorkshire Forward.
This work has been brought together into a Draft Renaissance Plan. The Renaissance Plan is part of Yorkshire Forward's Renaissance Towns Programme. The ambition of the programme is to create and sustain Great Places by delivering physical, economic and environmental change, creating towns of distinction and quality.
An Exhibition was held at Goole Library this Spring as an opportunity for you to view the ideas and designs and let us know your thoughts.
A copy of the report is available to view viewed on line at: www.eastriding.gov.uk or you can download the Plan by clicking on the Renaissance Town Plan bar below.

Goole's strategic importance |

Goole is one of the Humber's most strategically important port towns. It offers excellent rail, road and water connections.
In recent years, we have seen the development of Glews Hollow followed by the M62 Junction 36 Centreport site.
These sites represent a huge investment in the town and are of major significance to the Yorkshire and Humber Region and the North of England's future competitiveness and sustainability.
As the gateway to the Humber Trade Zone and only 15 miles from the new international airport at Finningley, the area is well placed to benefit from significant inward investment on these sites.
Goole is Britain's premier inland Port. Located on the River Ouse, some 80km from the open sea and 2km from the M62 - only a half hour's drive is required to reach the heart of West and South Yorkshire.
The Port also has rail connections to many berths and canal connections to West and South Yorkshire.
