A Taste of Goole...
Goole is a fascinating Victorian town with a Georgian core centred around the docks.
It is the furthest inland port in Britain, and was created as a 'Company Town' in the early 19th century by the Aire and Calder Navigation Company as the outport for the West Riding canal and river system which they controlled.
There is a public footpath through the docks, plus pleasant walks along the banks of the River Ouse between Goole and Hook.
The area around the town includes sites of special scientific importance such as Blacktoft Sands Nature Reserve.
The shopping plaza in Goole offers a friendly environment as well as good value for money for shoppers and bargain hunters alike. An attractive market area also adds to the facilities available to shoppers and curio hunters.
With green spaces, coffee shops and a modern pedestrianised shopping centre Goole offers vistors a variety of enjoyable experiences when out and about in and around the town.
